FOR THE PARENTS:
Getting started the right way
Kindergarten...elementary school...high school...college...
Growing up takes a young adult through many different stages. One of the most important is how they will establish and manage his or her personal finances.
The lessons they learn when they open their first savings or checking account will be with them for a lifetime.
So start them off right with Fort Knox Federal's Student Choice PLUS.
WHO'S ELIGIBLE?
Student Choice Plus is designed for the young person, 16-24 years old, just taking his or her first steps into adulthood and learning the responsibilities that comes with it.
Whether your children are in high school, college, military service or about to strike out on their own, they are eligible for Student Choice Plus as long as you are a member.
WHAT'S THE BENEFIT?
Knowing how to manage money is one of the most important skills a young adult can learn and the sooner they start learning, the better. Opening and maintaining their own checking account will help teach them the necessity of keeping accurate records, balancing a check book and understanding the value of money. Best of all, Fort Knox Federal's student choice account is totally free, with no minimum balance required, no monthly service charge and no per check fee.

Perhaps one of the most important components of the Student Choice Plus package is the share savings account that comes automatically with Fort Knox Federal Credit Union membership. Teaching the value of steady, systematic saving is a wonderful lesson. As they build their savings, the account may also be used to secure a Share loan at a special lower annual percentage rate. Share loans can be used to pay for school expenses or other needs.
